On March 30, the third "National Security Education Study Tour" from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region visited the High School Affiliated with Renmin University of China (RDFZ). A total of 110 teachers and students from 19 Hong Kong secondary schools joined RDFZ faculty and students in a series of exchange activities centered on national security education and patriotic education. This visit aimed to foster mutual learning between schools in Beijing and Hong Kong, guide young people in both cities to establish a correct view of national security, forge a shared patriotic consensus, and strengthen their sense of responsibility.
The members of this study tour were primarily student representatives who had performed outstandingly in the Hong Kong Academic National Security Knowledge Challenge. Attending the event were senior Hong Kong SAR officials including Zhang Guojun, Deputy Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and Qu Zhiguang, Secretary-General of the Hong Kong SAR Committee for Safeguarding National Security, as well as relevant leaders from central government agencies stationed in Hong Kong. Also in attendance were Dong Chuan, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education; Tang Jiandong, Member of the Haidian District Party Committee Education Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Haidian District Commission of Education; and Lü Na, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of the Haidian District Commission of Education.

The welcome ceremony was presided over by Mi Qi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of RDFZ and Its Affiliated Schools Headquarters, Principal of RDFZ, and Executive Vice-Principal of the RDFZ Affiliated Schools Headquarters. The ceremony opened with the screening of the RDFZ promotional film "Pursuing the Dream." Beginning with the school's red cultural heritage, "Pursuing the Dream" presented a vibrant portrait of students growing and developing comprehensively in the fields of science and technology innovation, humanities, sports, arts, and labor, showcasing RDFZ's founding mission of cultivating talent for the Party and for the nation.

Xu Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of RDFZ and Its Affiliated Schools Headquarters, extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. He noted that young people are the future of the nation and the hope of the people, and are the core force in safeguarding national security and carrying forward the spirit of patriotism. He expressed hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity for students from both Beijing and Hong Kong to deepen their sense of patriotism, strengthen their sense of national identity, and strive to be steadfast guardians of national security, loyal upholders of the "One Country, Two Systems" principle, and active builders of national rejuvenation.

Zhang Guojun, Deputy Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong SAR Government, stated that the teachers and students of the delegation had been greatly looking forward to this exchange. He expressed hope that through this activity, young people from both regions would deepen their friendship and mutual understanding, and move forward together in the same direction through exchange and mutual learning, together fostering a spirit of patriotism and love for the nation.
Students from the RDFZ Arts Ensemble delivered a wonderful performance for the visiting delegation.

At a solemn flag-raising ceremony, the visiting teachers and students and RDFZ faculty and students stood together in silence, watching the Five-Starred Red Flag rise slowly, their hearts filled with reverence and sincerity, collectively expressing their patriotic feelings. RDFZ students delivered a themed recitation under the flag entitled "The Mountains and Rivers Bear Witness — Heroes Are Immortal," which the visiting teachers and students listened to attentively, together paying emotional tribute to the revolutionary martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives for national independence and national liberation. "We have witnessed this prosperity on your behalf, and the future will be borne by us" — these resolute words resounded throughout the campus, embodying the firm conviction and genuine patriotic spirit of the new generation of young people to remember history and bravely shoulder their mission.

Given the current complex and ever-changing global situation, the rapid development of new technologies represented by artificial intelligence has given rise to numerous new security challenges, becoming a critical area that must be given the highest priority in safeguarding national security. At the same time, cultural security plays an important role in sustaining the national spirit, guarding the roots of the nation, and upholding national unity. China's excellent traditional culture is the shared spiritual heritage of the Chinese nation. To this end, our school specially arranged 9 artificial intelligence exchange sessions and 5 Chinese excellent traditional culture experience sessions for the visiting teachers and students, simultaneously enhancing their awareness of technological security and deepening their cultural confidence and patriotic spirit.

They played basketball together, competed in long jump, and played interactive games, deepening their friendship amid laughter and joy, and showing the vibrant spirit of youth.
The visiting principals and teachers from the delegation held a roundtable discussion with RDFZ's Party Secretary Xu Li and Principal Mi Qi on topics including the pathways and methods for implementing national security education in secondary schools, and the deep integration of physical education activities with curriculum and instruction.
After the activities concluded, Student Zhang from the delegation said that RDFZ students were very warm and welcoming, and that the exchange between students from Beijing and Hong Kong was harmonious and highly rewarding. It both deepened the strong friendship between young people from the two regions, and united them in their shared resolve to serve the nation and safeguard national security.
Student Ding said: "At the opening ceremony, the teachers and students of RDFZ demonstrated outstanding enthusiasm and quality. We witnessed the vivid embodiment of 'well-rounded development.' Excellence is not just a slogan — it is a habit that permeates every corner of the campus. In class, the teachers are no longer one-way transmitters; they are more like guides, conveying to us the depth of Chinese history and culture. Outside of class, teachers also introduced us to a diverse range of elective courses: from artificial intelligence to intangible cultural heritage, RDFZ's rich elective course system gave us a concrete demonstration of 'teaching in accordance with individual aptitude.'"
Students also said: "Stepping into RDFZ, the wonderful artistic performances and the solemn flag-raising ceremony allowed us to deeply feel the profound spirit of patriotism and the atmosphere of holistic education." And: "We will dedicate our youth to fulfilling our mission, study diligently, deepen our patriotic spirit, and consciously safeguard national security."

This visit not only provided the visiting Hong Kong teachers and students with vivid and profound national condition education and cultural experiences, but also deepened our school's students' understanding of national security, technological development, and cultural heritage through the interactive exchanges. Young people from both regions forged consensus, strengthened friendship, and together deepened their patriotic spirit, further enhancing their sense of responsibility and mission to safeguard national security, carry forward the Chinese cultural heritage, and share in the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.
