In order to further implement the integrated development strategy of education, science and technology, and talent as outlined in the Report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, our school — designated in December 2023 by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education as one of the first "Beijing Youth Top-notch Innovative Talent Cultivation Bases" — has, under the guidance of municipal and district education commissions, continued to explore and practice innovative talent cultivation. Since the launch of the RDFZ and RDFZ Affiliated Schools Headquarters Science and Innovation Talent Foundational Cultivation Program in October 2024, the program has facilitated efficient exchange and coordinated talent cultivation within the group through shared information, resources, technology, and values among member schools, and has made valuable explorations toward cultivating well-rounded science and innovation talents with outstanding strengths.
Over more than a year of curriculum practice, the program — guided by the fundamental mission of cultivating virtue and nurturing talent — has focused on developing core mathematical and scientific competencies. Through systematic innovation in working mechanisms, cultivation approaches, teaching methods, and assessment methods, the program has continued to explore effective pathways for cultivating innovative talent in the field of basic sciences at the compulsory education stage, accumulating practical experience for building a model of top-notch innovative talent cultivation characterized by group collaboration, through-train education, and co-cultivation and co-sharing. Program courses consistently uphold an interest- and competency-oriented philosophy, provide education tailored to individual needs, and co-create the future together.
On January 17, 2026, the RDFZ and RDFZ Affiliated Schools Headquarters AI Education Action Plan was officially launched. This action plan breaks down barriers between academic stages and subject boundaries, advances integrated innovation in curriculum, teaching, and teacher development, builds a new ecosystem of integrated intelligent education across all academic stages (university, secondary, primary, and early childhood), and explores new pathways for the integration of artificial intelligence and education. The action plan encompasses six major initiatives — values leadership, strategic curriculum, symbiotic classrooms, future teachers, digital-intelligent governance, and learning centers — with a total of 18 specific measures. Among these, the "AI+" Curriculum Map will be aligned with national strategic needs, vertically integrated across all academic stages, and embedded into cross-disciplinary teaching. Through eight curriculum clusters covering frontier fields such as intelligent governance, embodied intelligence, aerospace technology, quantum technology, core chips, emerging energy, and life sciences, students will be guided to strengthen their foundational thinking skills while solving real scientific problems.
In order to extend the fruits of our exploratory practice to more students within the group, in addition to the existing channel through which member schools recommend students to participate in learning, a self-nomination channel is now being added. Students from RDFZ and all member schools of the group who are interested in this cultivation program are welcome to apply.
1. Target Participants
The program aims to identify junior high school students within the group who love science, embrace challenges, and possess scientific potential and a spirit of inquiry. (Students already participating in the Science Camp are requested not to apply again.)
2. Schedule
Courses are conducted primarily on weekends and during winter and summer vacations.
3. Instructors
Courses are taught by a team comprising backbone teachers from RDFZ and member schools of the RDFZ Affiliated Schools Headquarters, as well as professors, experts, and graduate students from relevant disciplines at domestic Double First-Class universities and research institutes.
